Developers wanting to save time and money, and avoid conflicts are using standards. Learn about how OpenSearch APIs based on OGC open standards support the implementation of a system of systems for Earth observation.

What: Opensearch GEO and Time extensions and Opensearch Earth Observation Extension are open standards available to the GEO community to connect efficiently the components (or “systems”) of the Global Earth Observation System of Systems. OGC published the OpenSearch Geo and Time extensions standard to the OpenSearch query protocol to provide a very simple way to make spatial and temporal queries to a repository of geospatial content that contains geographic and temporal properties and to allow simple syndication of repositories. This webinar will introduce these Opensearch extensions, NextGEOSS partners will provide their return on experience on their implementation as an extension to CKAN and the benefits.
Why now: H2020 calls encourage the use of standards. NextGEOSS and e-shape decided to join efforts to share their experience and develop capacity building resources on this important topic.
Who is it for: Developers, Project Managers, Products owners , generally IT stakeholders, the European Commission in general and specifically the H2020 community. As NextGEOSS and e-shape are contributions to GEO, a special emphasis is made on Earth Observation even if the topic is more general.
