Learn how to integrate Geospatial User Feedback service in community portals, and understand the valuable information this will open.
Tuesday 19th March at 14:00 CET
What: The metadata gived by the data providers may not be sufficiantly informative for the users. Users’ perspective on data quality is useful and complementary to common data quality included on metadata (i.e. data quality informed by the data producer about lineage of the data, quality indicators, etc). This user complementary information can be acquired including a feedback system in the geospatial portals.
Users can produce valuable and complementary metadata about resources structured in feedback about each resource they are interested in, have used, etc. There are plenty of elements that can be included in a feedback item about a resource (or a group of them) such as ratings, comments, usage, related publications, additional lineage steps, significant events description.
Feedback collection systems should be implemented in community portals to gather users’ feedback information. Moreover, if this collection and storage is done following international standards such as OGC Geospatial User Feedback (GUF), this information can be shared and collected among several catalogs, increasing its usefulness. This user complementary information can be acquired including a feedback system in the geospatial portals.
In this webinar you will learn about user feedback collection systems and how they can be implemented.
The webinar is structured in three parts: - The first one is about the NiMMbus. The user feedback system will be presented and a few examples about its current integration on several catalogs will be explained. - In the second part, the technical details about how NiMMbus can be integrated in community portals will be described in detail. - Thirdly, an example of how a CKAN-NiMMbus integration will be shown.
The audience will be able to rise questions between the presentations and at the end.
Why now: The NextGEOSS pilot portals are now mature enough to include the GUF service. Moreover, external pilots are starting to integrate with NextGEOSS services, and NextGEOSS is welcoming more external users that will be able to benefit from this service as well.
Who: This webinar is for NextGEOSS partners or external pilots implementers, EuroGEOSS initiative showcase participants, DIAS portals, other H2020 project in GEOSS orbit, in particular Citizen Science ones.
