The NextGEOSS Cloud Bursting service enables users to select a Cloud-ready application package, assign it to a registered Cloud Provider, then configure, run and monitor a data production campaign on the selected Cloud environment.
It allows users to deploy and operate applications according to their data production needs. It empowers them to adapt their cloud deployment strategies as new opportunities arise from Cloud provider provisioning arrangements. First, users have access to a repository of Cloud-ready application packages made available to them as a “Cloud appliances”. Then users select an application package on the repository, and assign it to the deployer service matching their Cloud provider provisioning arrangements. As a result, applications are deployed to a scalable production environment, on the selected Cloud provider infrastructure. From there, users can perform data production campaigns in control of the application runs (directly from ad-hoc monitoring dashboard, or via an authorised Community Portal).
This service is based on the Ellip Solutions operated by Terradue.
The NextGEOSS Cloud Bursting service also includes a Support service to campaign managers, via a Helpdesk and a discussion forum, to create community and interact with other NextGEOSS contributors.
