Data Cataloging

Data Cataloging

NextGEOSS Data Hub and Platform maintain a constantly growing data catalogue covering a wide range of Earth Observation data, and related services. As part of the Data Cataloging, we build data connectors for you to systematically harvest metadata of the data sets you need for your applications and / or service, from a wide range of European data providers. The high availability and quality standards followed in the NextGEOSS Data Catalogue ensure that you always have access to the latest and complete set of data on European Earth observations.

We have extended our service for you to showcase the data you are producing in NextGEOSS Catalogue. This way you can reach out and promote to a wide Group on Earth Observations (GEO) community, and benefit your fellow Earth observation experts and feedback. This service includes a online Metadata Profile generation tool to create metadata of your metadata.

NextGEOSS data catalogue is based on CKAN, an open source software. CKAN uses the Open Knowledge Foundation’s Versioned Domain Model (VDM) to keep a complete history of all edits and versions of a metadata record related to a dataset.
